Transmission and Reflection in Strings (I)

In this problem, you will consider transmission and reflection for waves on a string. In this case, a point mass attached to the string at $ x=0$ creates the disruption to normal propagation (Figure 1). The string has mass per unit length $ \mu$, applied tension $ \tau$, and may be regarded for this problem as infinitely long. The mass has mass $ m$.
