Detailed analysis of scattering/Introduction to Differential Scattering Cross Section (25 pts)

In this problem you will explore the detailed analysis of scattering using the simple model of point particles scattering from hard parabolic reflectors of focal-length f and cross-sectional radius 2f, shown in Figure 1. The equation for the parabola in the figure is tex2html_wrap_inline350 , where tex2html_wrap_inline352 . The x-axis runs parallel to the trajectory of incoming particles and directly through the center of the reflector.
